Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the What Would Elalem Say? (Elalem Ne Der?) mobile app and the elalem.lol website (together, the “Service”). The Service is provided by teammadeit (Istanbul, Türkiye) (“we”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use it only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. Accounts are created by signing in with Apple or Google.

2. Your account and nickname

• Other users see you by your nickname. Showing your real name is entirely your choice.
• Your nickname must not impersonate any person or organization, and must not be insulting, hateful or obscene.
• You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity under it.

3. Content rules

Elalem may meddle in everything, but never in these. You must not post:

• Photos, names, contact details or other personal data of other people without their consent,
• Nudity, sexual content, or any inappropriate content involving minors,
• Bullying, harassment, threats, humiliation, hate speech or discrimination,
• Content that glorifies or encourages violence, self-harm or crime,
• Illegal content, or content that infringes copyright or trademarks,
• Spam, advertising, scams or misleading content.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

4. Moderation, reporting and blocking

You can report any question, comment or user and block users from within the app. We review reported content within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these rules. We may warn, suspend or permanently ban accounts that violate them, and we may also use automated filters.

5. Your content

You own what you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and show it to other users solely to operate the Service. The license ends when you delete the content, although removal from backups may take a reasonable time.

6. Elalem's opinions are not advice

Votes and comments from Elalem are for entertainment. They are not medical, legal, financial or any other professional advice. Whatever Hayriye Teyze says, your decisions and their consequences are your own.

7. Intellectual property

The Elalem Ne Der? and What Would Elalem Say? names, logos, the Hayriye Teyze character, and the app's design and software belong to us and may not be copied or used commercially without our permission.

8. Service and liability

We provide the Service “as is” and do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue it. Users are responsible for the content they post. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account. What happens to your data afterwards is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We will announce significant changes in the app or on this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
